Images for my Magazine

On Monday, I decided to start working on my images. Through experience I have found that often a variety of artists throughout magazines works better compared to having only a few. This gives me a variety of images to work with and more choice. So far I have got consent of 5 models. So far I have started taking pictures of four of them. Here are some of them;

 

 

I tried out taking pictures from different angles, and different shots e.g. long shot, mid shot etc. I played around with the lighting as sometimes the images came out too dark and sometimes it was too bright. However this came me knowledge of how the positioning can give pictures a whole new professional look.

Although not all of the information is useful, this video has given me a few useful tips that I will bare in mind whilst taking my photographs; 

Shot-List

I have created a shot list to guide me I conduct the photo-shoot of those who will feature in my magazine. As my magazine will be aimed at more adult-teens, the look I want to give my artist/ featured models will be a little more mature too. I have definitely decided to use more than one person as this is the convention I recognised in a number of pop magazines.

The shot-list will help me direct the models in a more ordered way rather than being confused. I have fixed poses that I will definitely try out and I may also add a few more poses while taking the pictures if I think of something that I think could perhaps work.

The Next Step

As the basic preparations for creating the magazine pieces have been conducted, I need to start paying attention to other things in more detail. As I have not yet heard from the artist to whom I requested to use for my magazine, it is important that I find a replacement model as soon as possible. However it would be important for me to use an appropriate model e.g. someone who would wear the outfits I would like them to use and someone who would fit in to the pop magazine genre. I also need to start researching for a potential magazine name.
